On behalf of the Local Committee, we would like to warmly welcome you to The Mill Academy. We hope our website gives you all the information you need and helps you get a real sense of what makes our school such a special place.

As a Local Committee, our role is to work closely with staff, parents, and pupils to make sure that every child at The Mill Academy receives the very best education in a safe and caring environment. Your child’s wellbeing, happiness, and progress are at the heart of everything we do.

We are incredibly proud of our children—their hard work, their achievements, and the way they represent our school and community. We have high expectations for every pupil and believe strongly in supporting them to reach their full potential, both now and in the future.

We want every child to look back on their time at The Mill Academy with pride and happy memories. Our job as a Local Committee is to support and challenge the school so that this vision becomes a reality for every child.

As part of the HCAT Multi-Academy Trust, we share a strong vision and set of values that help guide and support our work.

The Mill Academy is pleased to share that Michael Knight has been appointed as the new Chair of the HCAT Board.

Michael joined HCAT as a trustee in 2024 and has already made a significant contribution to the trust’s work. As Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Manchester, he brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, innovation, and digital transformation. His expertise will be invaluable as HCAT continues to develop and grow.
